St. Andrew's United Church is a two-point pastoral charge with Delta United Church as our sister church. We are a small, but active church with a Sunday service that includes in its worship, an enthusiastic choir and a coffee time after the service for many good visits with one another. We strive to serve and meet the needs of our local and wider community in a variety of programs that we offer.

Food Bank and Christmas Outreach

St. Andrew's United Church collects food monthly for the Athens Food Bank and provides gifts, mitts, socks, and grocery store gift cards that are taken to families in need as well as to the Salvation Army and Interval House at Christmas.

Community Gatherings

Our attractive church hall and modern kitchen is available for rent. They are both often in use for club meetings, baby showers, large private family gatherings as well as for our famous Soup and Sandwich Lunches (at noon on the second Sunday of each month, September-April). Everyone is welcome, whether from neighbouring churches or the wider community.

Ecumenical Partnerships

St. Andrew's United Church

St. Andrew's enjoys ecumenical partnerships with St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church and the Anglican Parish of Kitley. We share times of joint worship and support each other's fundraising events. Kitley Elders is a joint outreach that we offer to seniors in the Toledo/Newbliss surrounding area. A monthly Potluck Dinner, (Feb-June, Sept-Nov) is held in each other's churches with a meditation, and entertainment to provide fellowship and enjoyment. This is such a valued social outing for all who come.

In the year 2000, a Millennial Cross was erected at the Kitley Township Office where an Easter Sunrise Service is led by each of our ministers/priests at 7:00 AM each year. An Easter Breakfast is offered after at our United Church Hall. The Cross is a symbol of Unity, that we are all on this earth for the same reason, to love and support each other.

Fundraising for Good Causes

Each June the church provides lunches for the annual Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour. With monies raised from this event and others we support the ongoing expenses of our church as well as our United Church of Canada Mission and Service Fund and its many projects in Canada and around the world. We also strive to direct monies toward local charities and are quick to respond to the urgent needs of world tragedies.

In conclusion, we are a small rural church with a core group of members who value each other as friends, as we worship and work together. For as long as possible, we hope we can extend a welcome to newcomers, pray with and for people with special needs, visit the sick, the aging and the lonely and spread the gospel of God's love and hope for us all. May we see the face of Jesus in every one we meet and may everyone we meet, see the face of Jesus in us !
